The Quebec Stage is the second stage of our journey across Canada to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Motorcycle Ride for Dad’s fight against prostate cancer, and to show support for our troops. It begins where the Atlantic Stage dropped us off, in Oromocto on the banks of the St.John River, New Brunswick. We will follow that river valley due north, skirting the eastern border of Maine, hooking slightly left as we leave the last of the Atlantic Provinces into to Quebec and over the Monts Notre Dame bursting out into the valley of the mighty St.Lawrence river. In three exciting and busy days we travel from New Brunswick to the shadows of Parliament Hill in Ottawa. We ride up the St.Lawrence river valley’s famous south shore to historic Quebec city and crossing to the north shore we visit the home of the famous Royal 22nd Regiment the “Vandoos” ! We will travel along the north shore into the downtown of one of Canada's great cities, Montreal. We will vist CFB Longue Pointe in Montreal for lunch. We may also be joined by members coming north from the HOG National Convention in Sherbrooke. Leaving Montreal we cut northwest across the city to the mouth of the historic Ottawa River valley. Travelling the old roads northwest up the Ottawa we cross into Ontario at Hawkesbury and on to the Nations Capital, Ottawa. As you can see the Quebec stage rolls along three of eastern Canada’s major rivers , the heartland of Quebec culture and two of her most famous cities. We wish we had time to explore more of Quebec’s back roads, mountains and eastern townships, but a whole lot of Canada still lies before us.
